Refund & Cancellation Policy - Canvas Ateliers

When you book a spot at Canvas Ateliers, that seat is held for you: your materials are set aside, your workstation is prepared, and your place is saved. Our approach is simple - the earlier you let us know about a change, the more flexibility we can offer.

Open Workshops

7 or more days before your session You receive a full refund to your original payment method.

Less than 7 days before your session A refund is no longer possible at this stage, but you can reschedule once to another available date, subject to availability, as long as you let us know before your session starts. This also applies if you booked your spot within 7 days of the session. You may also pass your spot to a friend or family member : just email us their name and we'll welcome them in your place.

No-shows If you don't attend without prior notice, no refund or reschedule can be offered.

Private & Group Bookings

Private workshops involve a reserved time slot, materials for your whole group, dedicated instructor time, and often a tailored setup — so they follow slightly different terms.

Reservation payment A 15% reservation payment secures your date. It is deducted from the total event cost — it is not an additional charge — and the booking is confirmed once we receive it. The reservation payment is due within 7 days of the quote. The remaining 85% is due 7 days before the event.

Cancellation

• 14 or more days before the event: full refund, not including the reservation payment.
• 7 to 13 days before the event: 50% refund of the total event cost.
• Less than 7 days before the event: no refund.

If the final balance has not yet been paid when you cancel, any amount owed above the reservation payment will be invoiced and is payable within 7 days.

Final numbers Your final headcount is confirmed 7 days before the event. All spots reserved at that point count toward the total and are charged accordingly, including no-shows.

Rescheduling One free reschedule is possible when requested at least 7 days before the event, subject to availability. Later requests are treated as a cancellation under the terms above.

If your event has a custom agreement with different terms, those take priority.

When Canvas Ateliers Needs to Adjust

In the rare event we need to postpone or cancel a session — for example, due to instructor illness or low enrollment — you'll always have the choice between a full refund or transferring your booking to another date.

Getting in Touch

All cancellation and rescheduling requests must be sent in writing to info@canvasateliers.nl. The timestamp of your email determines the applicable window. Refunds are processed to your original payment method and may take a few business days to appear, depending on your provider.

We're a small, community-driven studio, and a quick heads-up whenever your plans change helps us more than you'd think.

Dutch Consumer Law Notice

NL: Voor onze workshops geldt geen herroepingsrecht, omdat het een dienst betreft met betrekking tot vrijetijdsbesteding op een bepaalde datum (conform art. 6:230p lid 1 sub e BW). Bij het afronden van je boeking ga je hiermee akkoord.

EN: Our workshops are not subject to the 14-day right of withdrawal, as they concern a service related to leisure activities scheduled on a specific date (in accordance with art. 6:230p(1)(e) of the Dutch Civil Code). By completing your booking, you agree to this.
